Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment
Clear, robust LVIA that helps applications through planning and stands up at appeal.
What it is and when you need it
A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment looks at how a proposed development would change the landscape and the views people have of it. It is usually required for development in the countryside, on the edge of settlements, in or near protected landscapes, or as part of an Environmental Impact Assessment.
We prepare LVIA in line with the Guidelines for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment, third edition (GLVIA3), for both EIA and non-EIA projects. Our aim is always an assessment that is proportionate, easy for officers to follow, and defensible if the scheme goes to appeal.
